LCDGP provides free Mental Health Services to patients aged 3 years and above who have been referred by a GP or Psychaitrist.

To access free sessions with a Mental Health Clinician book a longer than normal appointment with your GP and talk to them about seeing a Mental Health Clinician. The GP will be required to complete a GP Mental Health Treatment Plan to refer you to the Divisions Mental Health Team. Once the Division has recieved the referral from the GP they will then call you to arrange an appointment time.

Better Outcome in Mental Health - Access to Allied Psychological Services:

ATAPs provides funding for GPs to refer patients who have been diagnosed as havng a Mental Health disorder, to an allied health professional to provide free focused psychological strategies.

ATAPs primarily treats high prevalence mental health disorders such as anxiety and depression. A second Tier of funding allows the Division to also target hard to reach populations including women with peri natal depression and children under 12 with Mental Health problems.

Providing access to 3 Psychologists - 1 local, 2 visiting in Millicent, Mt Gambier, Kingtson, Keith & Bordertown and 1 Social Worker consulting in Naracoorte, Bordertown, Kingston & Mt Gambier.

Rural Primary Health Services - includes Metal Health Services, Phsiotherpay & the Hands on Health Program :

RPHS funded allied health services are  accessed by consumers in rural communities through their General Practitioner. Services provided are for short term interventions.

Allied health services funded under RPHS are  provided free of charge to rural consumers.

Providing  access to 3 Mental Health Counsellors & 3 Physiotherapy providers, in Millicent, Mt. Gambier, Penola, Keith,  Bordertown and Naracoorte.

Mental Health Nurse Incentive Program:

The Mental Health Nurse works in collaboration with Psychiatrists and General Practitioners to provide services such as monitoring a patient’s mental state, medication management and improving links to other health professionals and clinical service providers.

This initiative targets patients with severe mental health disorders during periods of significant disability and is free of charge to all consumers.

Providing access to 2 Mental Health Nurses in Mt. Gambier.

Mental Health Shared Care with General Practice:

Mental Health Shared Care with General Practice program provides specialist mental health workers to support General Practitioners.  These workers will provide care to people who have a severe or disabling mental health disorder, or are at risk of developing one and require early intervention.

Providing  access to 1 Social Worker in Naracoorte, Kingston and Bordertown.
