Rural Doctors Workforce Agency :

The Rural Doctors Workforce Agency (RDWA) is a non-profit organisation, funded by the Australian and State Governments and assists in “obtaining, keeping and skilling” the rural medical workforce in South Australia.

The Rural Doctors Workforce Agency's vision is to build high quality medical services in partnership with rural and remote communities. To achieve this, the Agency has adopted the following strategies:
- To recruit and sustain a high quality rural and remote medical workforce
- To lead innovative research and workforce planning that will inform and guide the next generation of rural medical practice
- To promote and facilitate vibrant and resilient models of health care in partnership with rural and remote communities

What is Dr Doc? :

Dr DOC promotes doctors' duty of care to themselves, their families and their colleagues. The Division assists the Rural Doctors Workforce Agency with the promotion implementation of its Dr Doc Program
Program Activities include:

- Link GP Network: a trained resource to offer confidential support at a local level.
- Dr Doc Health Checkups: Confidential health checkups for rural GPs and their families.
- Country Practice Retreats: Retreat weekends provide an opportunity to pause and reflect on life as a rural GP and to refresh and reinvigorate your goals and priorities.

Rural Medical Family Network :

The Rural Medical Family Network provides a range of information and support services for medical families in the Limestone Coast region. A monthly coffee morning is held on the first Friday of each month and is hosted by medical families on a rotational basis.  Many families have found this a great opportunity to meet and socialise with other medical families in the region.

Rural Doctors Workforce Agency can assist with Spouse Employment Assistance Grants – grants to provide spouses/partners of resident doctors and specialists to undertake training/up skilling for the purpose of gaining employment.
