Immunisation Program :

The Immunisation Program provides information and support for all Immunisation providers both public and private, in relation to the provision of Immunisation services for children and adults. The Local Immunisation coordinator (LIC) assists GPs and their staff to implement the GPII scheme, also provides training and education events to ensure that Immunisation Providers have current information on immunisation at all times.

The four main areas where LICs provide assistance and support to Immunisation Providers are education, clinical advice, improving immunisation rates and cold chain management.

The program also updates changes to the childhood immunisation register as they occur. The Division monitors immunisation coverage rates for children aged from birth to 7 years in conjunction with the ACIR, and provides practices with feedback on quarterly statistics.
