Ferrers Medical Clinic is a large general practice located on the western side of Mount Gambier in the South East of South Australia, comprising of 10 large consulting rooms and four treatment rooms. The building consists of two Federation style houses joined toegther by a central administration area.
Our five partners and four associates offer the community a wide range of health services and some of our doctors have admitting rights to the Mount Gambier Private Hospital. A visiting rheumatologist consults monthly at Ferrers Medical Clinic.
We are proud to be part of the Flinder University Rural Clincial School where rural medical students are hosted in our practice.
Our fully computerised practice offers remote access to doctors visiting nursing homes and for doctors home use. We have a Broadband system and use Intranet extensivley within the clinic.
Clinical staff comprise of seven practice nurses who work on a roster system. These nurses perform tasks such as immunisations, dressings, plaster, specimen collection, audiograms, ECG's, vitaligraphs etc. They also hold clinics for asthma and diabetic patients.
Our 14 adminstrative/reception staff provide full support for our general practitioners as well as fulfulling the needs of our patients, resulting in a well organised clinic.
The Clinic oncall roster is shared evenly by all doctors. The duty doctor takes overnight calls from the community and gives advice or directs the patient to Acciedent & Emergency at the hospital which is staffed by salaried medical officers. Duty doctors are rostered to mornning clinics held on Saturday, Sunday and public holidays.

Monday to Friday 8.30am to 6.30pm. Saturday 8.30am to 11.30am. Sunday & Public holidays 10am to 12.30pm.
Appointments cam be made in person after 8.30am or by telephoned 8am Monday to Saturday, and from 9.30am Sunday and public holidays.
The Consulting Rooms at the Mount Gambier Hospital provides specialists in the following field: Physician/cardiologist, paediatrician and general surgeons. Numerous specialists visit Mount Gambier influding ENT surgeon, psychiatrist, specialists from the Womens & Children's Hospital.
There are resident opthalmologists, orthopeedic surgeons, obstetricians and gynaecologists.
The Mount Gambier Hospital is a major regional health provider. The facility includes an emergency department, 78 public beds, day surgery and 4 operating theatres. There is a separate 20 bed private hospital.
Community Health provides dental service, mental health service, drug & alcohol counselling, palliative care, renal dialysis, aboriginal health, physiotherapy, podiatry, dietitian and diabetic educator.
